They have finally started on the new batting cages! The land has been cleared and leveled. Thursday they come out to remove two HUGE pine trees...I wish they would take every single tree starting right next to the stadium all the way down the left line....maybe something to take a look at...
Here is a breakdown of the new cages:
30 x 80 feet of 4 inch concrete slab covered with 50 oz. woven astro-turf, all under a shingled roof which will be lighted. Inside will feature two side-by-side, 12 foot wide x 60 foot long cages on independent sliding systems that will allow us to also take groundballs, two soft toss stations, an Iron Mike Pitching machine and an indoor mound. The cages will run parallel to the fence where the old cage used to stand.
